Wonderspaces is a unique art experience that features a collection of interactive installations from artists around the world.

Visitors can explore the different rooms and interact with the art pieces in a fun and engaging way. The installations are designed to be visually stunning and thought-provoking, making it a great place to visit for anyone who loves art.

The art installations include Submergence by Squidsoup, an immersive installation with 8,064 individual points of light that change colors according to music, evoking a sense of movement within physical space.

Another featured artwork is BODY PAINT by Memo Akten. SWING is an interactive installation in which the viewer is asked to walk on the surface of the artwork. Each step the participant takes reverberates across the entire artwork.

Wonderspaces regularly changes the artwork lineup, ensuring there is always something new for visitors to explore.

The festival usually takes place in March and lasts for 10 days.

The SXSW Art Program offers a unique platform for both established and emerging artists to showcase innovative projects at the SXSW Conference. The program includes thought-provoking experiences that contribute to discussions on visual and digital media arts.

The program features one-of-a-kind art installations by both established and emerging artists across SXSW venues.

There are six new light-based art installations at Creek Show 2023. The art installations are created by Austin-based artists, architects, designers, and landscape architects.

The themes of the art installations revolve around various aspects of Waller Creek, including its history and hydrology.

The festival offers visitors a chance to discover new artistic talent, see working studios, learn about artists’ tools, techniques and inspirations, and explore galleries.

8. The Surreal Garden

The Surreal Garden Exhibition, at Zilker Botanical Garden, is a neon-themed art event that enchants with interactive sculptures, live entertainment, craft cocktails, local foods. The integration of the art exhibit into the botanical garden creates a stunning neon extravaganza.

The exhibition features fantastical neon sculptures created by Sharon & Greg Keshishian and the Ion Art Team.

It takes place over two weekends in April each year, with evening soirées and a VIP night. The event includes interactive art, music, fantastical costumes, live entertainment, dancing, and unlimited photo opportunities.

The 2023 edition had a good selection of local food vendors from Crepe Crazy, Garbo’s Lobster Rolls, to TacoMan 512, and Sugar Mama’s Bakeshop.

9. Austin Studio Tour

  • Opening: November 4-5th, 11-12th, and 18-19th

The Austin Studio Tour is an annual event that features open studios from local artists throughout Austin. Visitors can explore the different studios and see how artists work in their creative spaces.

The Austin Studio Tour is a free, self-guided art event that combines the West Austin Studio Tour and East Austin Studio Tour to provide opportunities for artists all over Austin to connect with each other, showcasing current work.

Visitors to the festival will have a chance to discover new artistic talent, see working studios, learn about artists’ tools, techniques and inspirations, and explore galleries.

10. Bee Cave Buzz Fest

The Bee Cave Buzzfest is an immersive 3-day music, tech, and art festival held in Bee Cave, Texas.

It’s a celebration of local art, music, and culture and features electronic music performers, dance, and immersive light and sound art installations.
